Their uncle remarked that this cable had broken previously and had only been superficially repaired by the electricity department. A properly conducted repair or a timely power shutdown could have prevented this fatal accident. Following the incident, Derni police arrived on the scene to send the bodies to Chapra Sadar Hospital for post-mortem analysis. The police chief stated that while the family has yet to file a formal complaint, investigations are ongoing.
