Iltija said, 'Mufti Sahab tried to moderate Modi Ji. Let me tell you a joke: Lalu Ji was sent to America to learn English from Bill Clinton. Two months later, when the media arrived there, Bill Clinton had his feet on the table and was saying, 'Lalua, where is the betel leaf?' We thought we could change Modi Ji, but he changed the whole of India.'

Iltija continued, 'We thought we could instill a secular mindset or make things moderate, but the whole of India went crazy. Muslims being called Covid spreaders... Mufti Sahab had clear intentions. No. We thought we could moderate the BJP, but they drove everyone crazy.'
