In recent years, momos have become a popular street food delight. However, they have also been associated with several illness cases. A concerning incident has emerged from Hyderabad, Telangana, where consuming momos from a street stall resulted in sickness for 15 individuals and tragically, the death of a woman.
Police reports indicate a tragic event in the Nandinagar area of the Banjara Hills locality. It appears that a 31-year-old woman, Reshma Begum, reportedly lost her life after eating momos from a local street food stall. Alongside her, 15 more patrons of the same stall fell ill after consuming momos.
Family members of the deceased woman have lodged a complaint with the police, stating that she fell seriously ill post-consumption of the momos and was subsequently admitted to the hospital, where she passed away. They have mentioned that the body has been buried, and the cause of death has yet to be determined pending further action.
The Food Stall Was Run by Bihar Natives
Authorities revealed that on Sunday, Reshma Begum and others patronized the 'Delhi Momos' food stall for their meal. Situated in Chintal Basti, this stall was initiated roughly three months ago by Armaan and five friends hailing from Bihar.
Investigation Continues Into the Cause of Death
Legal proceedings have commenced against the individuals running the momo stall. Investigations into the precise cause of the woman's death and the related illnesses are ongoing. An official stated, "We are in the process of determining the exact cause of death." They confirmed that the operators of the stall are currently in police custody.
