Uddhav Thackeray received votes from those he addressed as 'Janab' Balasaheb instead of 'Hindu Hriday Samrat' Bal Thackeray: Fadnavis

Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, stated that the opposition's win isn't attributed to Marathi speakers, average Mumbaikars, or the North Indian community living in the city for generations.

BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray. He claimed that the NDA received over 2 lakh votes more than the MVA in Mumbai, but the seats won tell a different story: four for them and two for us. Fadnavis further added that Uddhav Thackeray neither secured votes from the Marathi folks nor the North Indians. He only got votes from those for whom Uddhav ceased addressing them as Hindu brothers and sisters, and began referring to them with the honorific 'Janab' for Balasaheb Thackeray.

In the recent assembly elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) secured three out of six seats in Mumbai. Meanwhile, BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction, and Congress won one seat each. Across the state, Congress emerged with the most, claiming 13 seats, with both the BJP and Uddhav faction at nine. Sharad Pawar's group also claimed nine seats, Shinde's faction seven, and Ajit Pawar's group one. BJP contested 28 seats throughout the state, while Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena contested in 15. Maharashtra has a total of 48 seats.

'The opposition's fabricated stories caused us harm'

Fadnavis alleged that Uddhav Thackeray stopped starting his speeches with 'my Hindu brothers and sisters' over the past six months in a bid to woo minority support. He admitted that during the Lok Sabha campaign, the opposition spread false narratives saying that the BJP intends to change the constitution and end reservations, which caused considerable damage to their prospects.

The public will deny the fabricated stories

Fadnavis conveyed that the Mumbai Graduates' constituency elections have been announced and it's time to reclaim victory. The constituency was earlier given to our former political ally (Shiv Sena). Our candidate Kiran Shelar will win and prove that the fake narratives against BJP will not prevail going forward.

Modi implemented the constitution across the country

He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first head of the government to implement the constitution across the entire nation. Before, Article 370 prevented it from being applied in Jammu & Kashmir. Now, following its abrogation, the constitution is in force there as well.

We received over 2 lakh more votes than MVA in Mumbai

Fadnavis noted that the BJP received 26 lakh votes in Mumbai against MVA's 24 lakh. However, the arithmetics of votes favored them, resulting in only two seats for the ruling BJP and Shiv Sena. The Deputy CM highlighted that this is a good sign, pointing out that Aditya Thackeray's Worli assembly constituency could only give their candidate (for the South Mumbai parliamentary seat) a lead of 6,000 votes. This clearly means that Uddhav's faction has lost its charisma, and the BJP will make gains in the municipal elections.

Affiliation for the sake of appeasement...

BJP Mumbai president Ashish Shelar remarked, even though when Modi and Amit Shah banned PFI, Youth Talk did not welcome the move. Today, for the sake of vote bank appeasement, many in the Muslim community are embracing alliances and adopting clear-cut strategies.
