Pahalgam Terror Attack: The bravery and vigilance of hotel staff saved the lives of a five-member family from Maharashtra's Buldhana. They were visiting the scenic Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir when a terrorist attack occurred on Tuesday (April 23).

Vigilant Hotel Staff Alert Guests

Nilesh Jain from Buldhana had been on a three-day tour of Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and Srinagar with his family and planned to stay in Pahalgam for two days. On Tuesday afternoon, just as they were ready to leave the hotel for local sightseeing, the owner and staff intervened. They informed him about ongoing gunfire and the tense atmosphere outside. Heeding the warning, the Jain family wisely chose to remain indoors.

That very afternoon, terrorists attacked the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, killing at least 26 and injuring many more, predominantly tourists.

In an interview with a news channel, Nilesh Jain said, 'If not for the timely intervention of the hotel staff, we might have been outside and it could have cost us our lives. We no longer wish to continue our trip and have requested the government to facilitate our immediate return home.'

Nilesh's brother Arun Jain, a journalist in Buldhana, shared that during the trip, Nilesh was accompanied by his wife, daughter, and two sons. The unfortunate incident occurred while they were in Pahalgam on April 21 and 22.

Ongoing Search Operation

Following the terrorist attack, security agencies intensified vigilance, conducting extensive search operations to locate the assailants. Security forces achieved a significant breakthrough in Baramulla district. The Indian Army eliminated two terrorists attempting to infiltrate near the Line of Control (LoC) in an encounter.

The army reported recovering two rifles, a large cache of ammunition, and other suspicious items from the terrorists. This operation aims to preempt potential threats and maintain peace in the area. Security agencies continue to monitor suspicious activities and have intensified searches throughout the region.
