Ever since the Lok Sabha elections were announced, the BJP has launched a series of creative campaigns to reach every voter's doorstep. This Holi, traditional water guns are bathed in BJP's colors.
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, shops are decked with water guns, but this time, a special one catches everyone's eye. Adorned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo and the BJP's lotus symbol, these Modi water guns are causing quite a stir among Congress supporters.
A Congress spokesperson, R.P. Singh argues that the BJP government excels at event management and branding, disconnected from public welfare. He questions whether the expenses behind these Modi-centric water guns and related materials are billed to the party's account.
In a bold statement, the spokesperson adds that Congress workers will certainly not buy Modi-themed water guns, irrespective of whether they celebrate Holi or not. Amidst the flurry of Modi water guns in the market, not a single Congress-themed one is in sight.
Nevertheless, BJP's active approach in reaching out to voters during festival times is clear. Meanwhile, the Congress can only watch the BJP's branded water guns dominate the market.
