In what has emerged as the second-largest assault on Israel in a week, Hezbollah launched at least 135 missiles from Lebanon into Haifa, Israel's bustling third-largest city. This attack resulted in ten injuries, and the city was engulfed in chaos. The air was filled with the clamor of sirens, as residents scurried to shelters to seek safety.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for this onslaught around 5 PM, specifically targeting Haifa with rockets and missiles, employing the infamous 'Fadi-1' missiles with devastating effect. This missile, renowned for its destructive prowess, inflicted significant damage on Haifa. Meanwhile, Israeli forces were commemorating the tragic events of October 7, 2023, when mass casualties were inflicted. This violent surprise shook the Israeli city deeply.

The Fadi missile, in Hezbollah's arsenal, is feared for its lethal capability, with a range of up to 80 kilometers and launch capability from mobile platforms. Armed with an 83-kilogram warhead, it can obliterate various targets and its penetrative potential challenges Israel's Iron Dome defense.

In response, Israel confirmed that military operations targeting Hezbollah's strongholds in South Lebanon were ongoing. Along with aerial strikes, ground troops were actively engaged against the terrorist group. Unfortunately, the conflict has claimed the lives of two Israeli soldiers, bringing the total military casualties in the confrontation with Hezbollah to eleven. Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized the imperative of retaliatory measures to ensure a secure future.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that an Israeli air raid on a municipal building in Bint Jbeil near the border resulted in the deaths of ten firefighters and numerous injuries among civilians. Additionally, air strikes on Sunday took the lives of 22 people in southern and eastern cities. The Israel Defense Forces also asserted that their air force carried out strategic bombings on Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Beirut.

Reflecting on the past year's tribulations, Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff, General Herzi Halevi, remarked, "It’s been a year since we faltered in our duty to protect Israeli citizens. October 7 is a day of profound introspection. Our battle against Hamas continues unabated. We've dealt Hezbollah a severe blow, with many of their commanders eliminated. We combat, we learn, and we adapt."
