On this auspicious Tuesday, the 23rd of April, 2024, Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated across the nation. Devotees flocking to Hanuman temples in the vicinity might encounter traffic congestions. As a preventive measure, a travel advisory for areas surrounding Baba Kharak Singh Marg has been released. The Hanuman Mandir on this road is a hotspot for the Jayanti celebrations, with an anticipated footfall of 50,000 to 60,000 devotees.

Additionally, from 3 pm to 6 pm, a grand procession accompanied by seven chariots and bands, and an expected 1,000 to 1,500 participants, will likely impact traffic on nearby routes.

Strict Prohibition on Parking

In alignment with the guidelines issued by the traffic police, parking or stopping of vehicles on Baba Kharak Singh Marg and the Outer Circle of Connaught Place is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance will result in the towing of vehicles to the Traffic Pit located on Kali Bari Marg, followed by appropriate legal action.

Procession Schedule: 3 pm to 6 pm

Residents and commuters in and around Baba Kharak Singh Marg are strongly advised to avoid certain routes during the parade hours, namely from 3 pm to 6 pm, stretching from GPO Circle to the Outer Circle of Connaught Place.

To minimize inconvenience and maintain smooth vehicular movement, traffic police have urged citizens to extend their cooperation. Commuters are advised to steer clear of roads such as Panchkuian Road, Mandir Marg, Kali Bari Marg, Ashoka Road, and Janpath. Attention towards diversion points is also stressed.
