London's Heathrow Airport announced on Friday that it will remain closed for approximately 24 hours following a disruption in power supply due to a fire at a nearby electrical substation. All incoming and outgoing flights at the airport have been canceled. The airport stated, "Due to a fire at an electrical substation that supplies power, Heathrow is experiencing a significant power shortage."

A social media post from the airport indicated that to ensure the safety of our passengers and colleagues, Heathrow will be closed until 23:59 on March 21. Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport and to contact their airline for further information. We apologize for the inconvenience."

However, a spokesperson mentioned that it remains unclear when airport operations will resume.

Meanwhile, ten fire engines have been dispatched to the location of the fire, which is approximately 3 kilometers north of Heathrow. According to local media reports, thousands of homes in West London have been left without power due to the severe fire.
