Voting for Haryana's 90 Assembly seats is scheduled for October 5. All parties have ramped up their campaigns. BJP faces the challenge of retaining power. In an exclusive interview with Aaj Tak, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini discussed BJP's preparations, strategies, and drawbacks. He also addressed the loss of 5 Lok Sabha seats in the previous election.
In Aaj Tak's new show 'CM Sahib,' Anjana Om Kashyap questioned CM Saini about BJP's performance in Haryana for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. BJP secured 5 out of 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. When asked about the reasons for losing the other 5 seats, whether it was due to opposition's attacks on the constitution, unemployment, inflation, or the wrestlers' issues, CM Saini said that the number of medals won by athletes increased before and after 2014. This was possible because the government enhanced facilities over these 10 years.
'Lost 5 Seats Due to Opposition's Lies'
Regarding the loss of 5 Lok Sabha seats, Nayab Singh Saini said that during the campaigns, the opposition spread lies about the constitution and reservations. They even subtly told people that 8,500 rupees would be deposited into everyone's account once the election results were in. The public was naive and Congress resorted to lying. The public got influenced by the opposition's deceit, although they are now gradually realizing the truth.
Response to Family Politics Allegations
When asked about BJP's claim to contest elections against family politics, yet fielding candidates from families, CM Saini responded, 'What do you consider family politics? Rahul, Priyanka, and Sonia Gandhi represent family politics. I am the son of a poor family, yet I became the Chief Minister of Haryana, despite having no political background. Could this be imagined within Congress? It is only within BJP that a dedicated worker, progressing with honesty, gets uplifted. This is practically possible only in BJP.'

They are the ones who have glorified India's name, but Congress is playing politics.'
CM Saini on MSP Issue
Regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers, CM said, 'Our Haryana is considered the bowl of rice. Our farmers produce the most rice. Since this matter is related to the central government, which buys it at the rate of 2,300 rupees per quintal. This rate sees an annual increase, and this year it is 2,300 rupees per quintal. The government is actively purchasing it.'
