An alarming incident has come to light in the Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. In Gogamedi village near Bhadra constituency, a wife killed her husband and buried the corpse in the toilet of their house. The discovery caused a sensation in the community. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and began their investigation.
According to reports, Roopram, a 42-year-old resident of Khachwana village, had been missing from his home for 16 days. His family lodged a complaint with the police, but it was alleged that the police did not take the matter seriously. The family appealed to the local legislator, which prompted the police to take action. When the police rigorously questioned Roopram’s wife, the truth surfaced. She confessed to the crime.
Acting on the family's suspicion, the police excavated the toilet in the house where they discovered Roopram's body. The police retrieved the body, began their investigation, and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team collected evidence from the scene. The family claimed that despite their repeated pleas, the police failed to heed their concerns, suspecting the wife from the beginning, but no action was initially taken.

Regarding the incident, Police Superintendent Vikas Sangwan said there appears to be an angle of an affair in the case. The police are thoroughly examining all aspects. Roopram’s wife has been rounded up, and other suspects are being investigated. As new suspects are identified, the police will make further arrests. Meanwhile, Roopram’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
Villagers and family block road in protest
The incident sparked anger among the villagers and Roopram's family, leading them to block the road outside the Gogamedi police station and protest against the authorities. They demanded the suspension of the Gogamedi police station officer Ajay Girdhar and the arrest of other suspects involved in the case.
The agitated family members refused to allow the post-mortem to be conducted until their demands were met. They accused the police of negligence, stating that Roopram Beniwal had been missing for about 16 days and no action was taken, despite informing the Gogamedi police.
The police assured that appropriate action would be taken in light of the seriousness of the case. They promised to arrest the remaining suspects swiftly and investigate any negligence on the part of the police officers involved. Presently, the investigation has been handed over to Bhada Police Station Officer Hanumana Ram Bishnoi.
