A shocking tale has emerged from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Here, a sister-in-law ensnared her brother-in-law within a honeytrap. With the aid of accomplices, they manipulated and extorted money from him through intimidation and theft. The distressed brother-in-law registered a complaint at the Gola Ka Mandir police station, prompting police action and the arrest of two suspects. Now, law enforcement is delving into the activities of the entire honeytrap gang.
Ravindra, hailing from Morena’s Piparseva region, was summoned to Gwalior by his relative sister-in-law, Omvati. Over the phone, Omvati proposed introducing him to her friend, Rukmani, with the intent of fostering their friendship. Consequently, Ravindra journeyed to Gwalior on Wednesday.
Upon arrival in Gwalior, Omvati introduced him to Rukmani, and they directed Ravindra to a residence in the Govardhan Colony. Though the setting appeared normal at first, circumstances swiftly shifted. While Ravindra and Rukmani were in a room, Omvati unexpectedly barged in with three associates—Ankit, Kaushal, and Aditya. Unbeknownst to Ravindra, a camera had clandestinely recorded their interaction.
The recording in hand, Omvati threatened to release the video unless Ravindra paid 1 million rupees. When he refused, they assaulted him and seized the 8,000 rupees he had.
Ravindra managed to escape and filed a report at the Gola Ka Mandir police station, recounting the ordeal to authorities. His complaint set the investigation in motion, yielding crucial evidence from the crime scene, including mentions of video recordings. Police have filed cases of blackmail, assault, and robbery against the suspects.

The CSP, Robin Jain, confirmed the incidents within the precinct. A woman named Omvati orchestrated a meeting between her brother-in-law, Ravindra, and another lady, only to video them. The duo then resorted to blackmail, demanding an exorbitant 1 million rupees, threatening to make the video viral. Upon refusal, they subjected him to a physical assault, inflicting injuries, and forcibly took away 8,000 rupees. Five suspects have been charged. Police successfully arrested two individuals.
In this conspiracy are five suspects—Omvati, her friend Rukmani, and three men, Kaushal, Ankit, and Aditya. While two suspects are in custody, the main accused, Omvati, along with two others, remain elusive. Police are conducting raids at potential hideouts. They suspect the gang’s involvement in similar extortion schemes in the past.
