'My young son is gone. A 21-22-year-old boy, who would have been the support of his elderly parents in the future. Now, where will we go? The one who took my child's life was granted bail from the station. What kind of law is this? Today he did this to my child, tomorrow he will take someone else's life.' These are the words of a mother whose young son lost his life in an accident where an SUV collided with his bike. A high-speed bike was hit directly by an SUV coming from the wrong direction, leading to the death of Akshat. Following the accident, Akshat's mother is raising several questions to the government and the system.

Speaking to Aaj Tak, Akshat's mother said, 'At this moment, we are not in a condition to talk to anyone. We just want justice. We do not understand the law in such cases or why the accused was released. The police stated that it is a bailable offense, hence he was released. If this is the case, then there's a flaw in the country's law. You can kill someone’s child and get released on bail. The offender is 25 years old. If he has done it before, he will do it again and will take many more lives. The one who killed our child should receive such a punishment that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.'

Akshat's friend's serious allegations against the police

Akshat's friend Pradyuman, who witnessed the accident, said that the police didn't take any footage on the day of the incident, even though they had seen it. The accused was coming from the wrong side in the right lane, which is meant for high-speed vehicles. Three days after the incident, the police contacted him for footage, but the accused had already been released on bail by then. The accused was granted bail even on a Sunday and Monday, when it should typically take longer.

Does the accused have political connections?

Pradyuman stated, 'The accused didn't come out of the car until Pradyuman and others forced him. Allegedly, after getting out of the car, the accused made a phone call. Both Akshat and the car were traveling at speeds of 70-80 kilometers per hour, with the road’s minimum speed being 60 kilometers per hour. Later, we found out that the accused owns a company that runs social media campaigns for politicians.'

The accused has previous violations

Exclusive information obtained by Aaj Tak revealed that the car driver involved in this accident had prior traffic violations. These included driving on the wrong side and parking in the wrong places. Just last month, on August 24th, the accused was fined in Haryana.
