In a harrowing episode from Gurugram, adjoining the capital city of Delhi, a heinous individual brutally assaulted his live-in partner's two children. The younger son suffered a grievous death, while the older son was seriously injured. Upon receiving the complaint, the police swiftly arrested the accused.
The Gurugram police informed the media on Monday that a 7-year-old boy was murdered, and his 9-year-old brother was left severely wounded. This came after they were beaten by their mother's live-in partner. The perpetrator has been identified as Vineet Chaudhary from Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh.
The children's grandfather reported to the police that Vineet Chaudhary often beat the two boys in their mother's absence. On Sunday, Chaudhary once again assaulted Manu and Preet when their mother was not at home. Following the beating, both children were rushed to the hospital.
The police noted that Chaudhary is employed at a private company in Gurugram. According to them, the children's father passed away in 2023, and since then, their mother had been living with Chaudhary at Rajendra Park along with her sons, Manu (9) and Preet (7).
By the time the children's grandfather arrived at the scene, Preet, the 7-year-old, had succumbed to his injuries, while his elder brother Manu was receiving medical treatment. An FIR was filed based on the grandfather's complaint, leading to Chaudhary's arrest on Monday.
A spokesperson for the Gurugram police stated that the accused had confessed to his crime. He is set to be presented before the city's court on Tuesday.
