In a shocking incident from Anantapur District in Andhra Pradesh, a driver continued driving for 18 kilometers with a corpse on his car roof after a collision, before abandoning his vehicle in a desolate location and fleeing. The police have located the owner of the vehicle, but an arrest has yet to be made. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
According to police reports, the incident took place in the Atmakur Mandal area of Anantapur District. An Innova and a motorcyclist collided head-on. Subsequently, the Innova driver carried the body on the car roof for 18 kilometers.
The Motorcyclist Was Initially Untraceable
SI Munir Ahmad of Atmakur stated that at around 8 PM on Sunday, a completely damaged and wrecked two-wheeler was discovered. Despite extensive searches, the motorcyclist could not be located. While the police were still trying to identify the biker, they received a call from a local resident at around 8:30 PM.
Innova Found 18 Kilometers Away
The caller, a villager, reported that approximately 18 kilometers away from the bike's location, an Innova was parked. A young man's body lay on the roof of this vehicle. Further investigation revealed the bike belonged to a local villager named Yorisami, who was found to be the deceased on top of the car.
Body Handed Over to Family Post Postmortem
Villagers informed the police that the driver of the car fled immediately after they were informed. The police confirmed they identified the car owner but haven't arrested him yet. After the postmortem examination, the deceased biker's body was handed over to his family. The investigation continues.
