In Greater Noida, an intense encounter unfolded with Bipin, the accused husband who brutally burned his wife Nikki over dowry demands. During the confrontation, a bullet struck Bipin's leg while he was trying to escape police custody. Despite the chase, police opened fire to halt him, leading to his arrest.
Authorities revealed they were taking Bipin to recover a bottle of thinner, believed to be used in the heinous act. In a desperate escape, Bipin reportedly snatched a policeman's pistol. In the ensuing chase, police action resulted in a bullet hitting his leg, subsequently leading to his capture.

After the encounter, Nikki's father shared his perspective with Aaj Tak, expressing his support for police actions against fleeing criminals like Bipin. He urged that others involved should be apprehended and face strict justice.
ADCP's Take on the Encounter
ADCP Sudhir Kumar explained, "On August 21, we received a distressing report of a man, with family, setting his wife on fire. Swift action led to Bipin’s arrest. When recovering incendiary bottles, he attempted to flee, even grabbing an inspector’s gun. As police encircled him, he retaliated, forcing us to act. A defensive shot immobilized him, and ongoing investigations ensue."
Bipin Denies Regret, Claims Innocence
Despite the grave allegations, Bipin stated he has no remorse, maintaining, "I didn’t kill her; she died on her own. Domestic disputes are commonplace."
Allegations against Bipin include violently dragging Nikki by her hair before setting her ablaze in front of her sister and son. The six-year-old recollects the tragic night, saying, "He poured something on mom, then hit her and set her on fire with a lighter."
The incident has sparked viral internet videos, exposing the chilling assault and Nikki's desperate exit post-injury.
