The Greater Noida murder case of Nikki Bhati is making headlines. It's now revealed that Nikki and her sister Kanchan's husbands argued not only over dowry but also about making social media reels and running beauty parlors.
According to the reports, Kanchan and Nikki used to upload reels and videos from Kanchan's social media profile. Vipin and his brother Rohit opposed this. On February 11, a heated argument arose, causing the sisters to return to their maternal home. A meeting on March 18 involved discussions from both sides, and it was decided that the sisters would stop creating reels and videos. However, they resumed shortly after, reigniting tensions as Nikki continued running her parlor, exacerbating the situation.
Father-in-law's Statement Post-Arrest
During police questioning, Nikki's father-in-law Satveer insisted he wasn't home at the time of the incident. Mother-in-law Daya claimed she was out on an errand. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage and electronic evidence to uncover the truth. They are also analyzing call data records and location data to track everyone's whereabouts at the time.
Demands Beyond Dowry
Nikki's father, Bikhari Singh, stated he spent extravagantly on her marriage, giving a Scorpio car, Bullet motorcycle, and gold and silver jewelry for her happiness. However, the demands were relentless, ranging from a Mercedes car to cash, amounting to around 3.6 million rupees. Despite several community meetings, no solution was reached.
Failed Attempts at Financial Independence
Bikhari Singh supported his daughter Nikki in becoming financially independent by helping her open a beauty parlor. They hoped for security and self-sufficiency, but Vipin started taking money from the parlor. He and his brother-in-law didn't work, only demanding money and creating pressure, even resorting to theft from the parlors.
When Tragedy Struck
March 21 turned into the last night of Nikki's life. The family reports that her husband Vipin and in-laws assaulted her. Her elder sister Kanchan recounted seeing Nikki beaten and strangled, then set ablaze with a flammable substance. Neighbors and family rushed Nikki to a nearby hospital, then Fortis, and later referred to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. Unfortunately, she passed away en route.
Heartbreaking Testimony from Nikki's Young Son
A viral video of Nikki's young son is moving hearts on social media. In it, the child states his father set his mother alight with a lighter. Nikki's son now stays with his grandparents.
Eyewitness Account from Her Sister
Nikki's elder sister Kanchan gave a heart-wrenching eyewitness account. She explained that she saw her sister engulfed in flames. Despite attempting to save her, they couldn't. Kanchan's testimony and the child's video are going viral, sparking widespread demands for justice through public posts and videos.
Entire Family Behind Bars
Kosana police acted swiftly post-incident. Nikki's husband Vipin, mother-in-law Daya, father-in-law Satveer, and brother-in-law Rohit have been arrested and are being interrogated individually. The ADCP of Greater Noida, Sudhir Kumar, assured that no culprit will be spared, promising stringent action to deter similar actions in the future. He remarked that on the night of the 21st, Fortis Hospital reported a woman admitted with burns. She was referred to Safdarjung Hospital, but unfortunately, she didn't survive the journey. An FIR is filed against four individuals—including her husband—based on her family's statement, and all have been arrested.
Hope for Justice and Public Outrage
Nikki's death devastated her family but also ignited a public demand for justice and strict actions. People are actively calling for justice on social media, particularly affected by the child’s statement and Kanchan’s firsthand testimony, stirring emotions nationwide.
