Sitting in a wheelchair under the blazing sun, Sudama Yadav protests for his home. Years ago, he booked a small flat for his family. Years have passed, and he is still waiting. Confined to a wheelchair due to illness, he states, 'I invested all my life's savings to book this flat. Given my condition, how can I run around? I'm barely managing a job, and my medical situation might force me to quit. Without a home, where can I go in such a state?'

Hundreds invested their hard-earned money into this project, waiting years, yet now find themselves protesting on the streets with their families. Buyers feel deceived after booking flats with the dream of owning a home but first faced deception from Amrapali. Now, they allege NBCC, responsible for construction, isn't completing the project. On weekends, people gather with their families to protest, accusing NBCC of neglect. However, NBCC claims to always prioritize customer interests and promises the flats will be delivered soon.

NBCC Pursuing Project Completion

Buyer Dipankar Kumar shares, 'We booked our flats during Amrapali's time, but when work didn't commence, we took the matter to court. In 2019, NBCC was tasked with project completion. The tender came out in 2020, and YFC was given the incomplete project, but even after five years, it's not finished. We've been protesting for years, and NBCC isn't working here.'

Poonam, a housewife, vents, 'My husband's salary is consumed by rent, EMI, and school fees. It's tough keeping the household running. Where do middle-class people like us go? What's our fault to endure this punishment?'

Another buyer, Suresh, claims, 'My life is in ruins. I have to pay school fees and care for my ailing mother. I'm financially broken. I take leave to come here, yet the site staff offers no answers as to why work isn't progressing. Work has been stalled for seven months. Officials provide no answers, misleading us every week.'

62-year-old Vishwambhar Dayal bought a home for retirement, paid in full, yet years have passed since he retired, with no home in sight. He laments, 'It was my dream to live with my children in our own house, but that dream is shattered.'

NBCC's Response

Following complaints, Aaj Tak Digital reached out to NBCC for their stance. An NBCC official stated, 'By October to November, we'll deliver four towers. We'll keep buyers updated about the project. Subsequently, work on other flats will commence. NBCC is dedicated to its work. We'll continue meeting buyers to address their issues.'
