Ahead of Ramadan, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi views the Citizen Amendment Act's rollout as a message to Muslims. He stated that the government's timing sends a clear signal to the community: 'Get your papers ready.'
Owaisi remarked, 'Clearly, the world knows that Ramadan is upon us. This directive was to the nation's 170 million Muslims: to prepare their documentation. Earlier, Mamata Banerjee questioned the notification's timing in view of Ramadan.'

Owaisi has been consistently critical of the government concerning the Citizenship Amendment Law. He also commented on the 'positive narrative' released by the Home Ministry, stating that no 'positive narrative' can be spun around something designed for harm.
What Mamata Said about CAA Notification Before Ramadan
Taking aim at the central government, Banerjee recently stated, 'I understand why today's date was chosen before Ramadan. I urge people to remain calm and not fall for any rumors.'
'You should have notified the rules six months earlier. If there are good things, we always support and appreciate them, but if anything is done that is not good for the country, TMC will always raise its voice and oppose it.'

'Linking CAA with NRC-NPR is Crucial'
Owaisi insists that the CAA should be considered alongside NRC and NPR. He mentioned that Amit Shah, addressing him in Parliament, stated that NRC and NPR shall come. 'It's on record,' Owaisi added, 'Hasn't Amit Shah mentioned in numerous TV interviews that the main aim is to implement NPR and NRC across the country...''
The Need to Prove Persecution in Citizenship Provision
The AIMIM Chief claimed, 'It's a lie that Muslims won't be affected. Only one community will enjoy the benefits of citizenship under the new law, and it cannot be dismissed on religious grounds.'
'If someone has been persecuted in their country, there should have been a provision to prove the actual persecution. Why then are Sri Lankan Tamils, Burmese Hindus, and Tibetan Buddhists excluded? If you want to protect asylum seekers, create a refugee law...'
