In Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, 19-year-old student Deepak Gupta was tragically murdered by cattle smugglers. Recently surfaced videos reveal smugglers attempting to load cattle onto a pickup/DCM truck using ropes. It is reported that during pursuit of this truck, Deepak was kidnapped by the smugglers, who later threw him from a moving vehicle, leading to his death. Deepak was preparing for the NEET exam.
The incident occurred in Jungle Dhusad village of Gorakhpur's Pipraich area. Last night, cattle smugglers stealthily entered the village, untying livestock from outside homes. Upon hearing the noise, there was an uproar. Deepak Gupta fiercely chased these smugglers; however, the smugglers kidnapped him and fled in their pickup truck.
As villagers began their search, Deepak's bloodied body was found about 4 kilometers away, inciting outrage in the community. The crowd captured a pickup truck and set it on fire, though the smugglers managed to escape in another vehicle. One smuggler, however, fell into the villagers' hands and was severely beaten until the police intervened to save him.
SSP Reveals 'Truth' Behind the Incident
Gorakhpur SSP Raj Karan Nayar reported receiving information at 3 AM about villagers pursuing cattle smugglers who had arrived in two pickup vans. One vehicle was trapped in the village, while the smugglers escaped in another. During the pursuit of this second vehicle, the smugglers forcibly took a young man onboard, pushing him out of the moving vehicle, causing him severe head injuries and resulting in his death upon hitting the road.
The SSP clarified rumors of gunshots, confirming no bullet wounds were found. Upon the family's complaint, a case has been filed, and five police teams are working to apprehend the accused. Villagers apprehended and assaulted a smuggler, who is currently receiving medical treatment. During the scuffle, a policeman was injured by a stone. The police assured that all culprits will soon be arrested, and strict action will be taken.
