The Google Pixel 8a has been unveiled in India, packing a series of impressive features, a powerful camera, and high refresh rate display capabilities. It stands as the most affordable phone of the Pixel 8 series launched last October. In terms of pricing, the Pixel 8a is set slightly higher than its Pixel 7a predecessor and comes equipped with a Tensor G3 chipset, 120Hz OLED display, and a 64MP camera.
The starting price for the Google Pixel 8a is INR 52,999, which includes 128GB of internal storage. For the variant boasting 256GB of storage, buyers can expect a price tag of INR 59,999. Pre-orders have commenced on the e-commerce platform Flipkart, with sales kicking off at 6:30 am on May 14.
Google is offering a tempting bank discount of INR 4,000. Selected banks are also providing no-cost EMI options. Additionally, consumers can take advantage of an exchange bonus worth 9,000 rupees.
The Google Pixel 8a features a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1400 nits HDR brightness, peak 2000 nits brightness, and a protective layer of Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood, the Google Pixel 8a utilizes the Google Tensor G3 chipset, paired with 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and available with 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The Google Pixel 8a sports a dual rear camera setup which includes a 64MP primary camera with 8x Super Res Zoom Optical and electronic image stabilization capabilities. It also features a 13MP ultra-wide camera capable of capturing a 120-degree field of view.
The camera setup resembles that of the Pixel 7A, but Google has introduced some crowd-pleasing features such as Magic Eraser, Best Take, and Audio Magic Eraser. Unlike the Pixel 7A, the Pixel 8A includes an Ultra HDR mode.
The Google Pixel 8a is equipped with a 4,492mAh battery supporting both fast wired charging and Wireless Qi charging. Google claims the phone can provide up to 24 to 72 hours of usage on a full charge. The device also includes an under-display fingerprint scanner and boasts an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
