After the horrific incident involving a trainee woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, a global outcry for justice has erupted. Severe punishment for the accused is being demanded not just in India but also abroad. The plea for justice has now reached Britain. Numerous people gathered outside the British Parliament in London, holding candles and banners, calling for justice. It was a moving scene, with some holding flowers in tribute.

Dr. Deepti Jain, in charge of the committee of doctors in Britain, said, "We never imagined we would have to stage a protest like this. We have organized many events before, but this one is deeply emotional. We have gathered here to demand justice. Such protests are happening not just here but in 16 cities across Britain and in many places in the USA as well."

She mentioned that this movement will go global. We will continue our demand for justice and women's safety, calling for the harshest possible punishment for those who committed this heinous crime, which destroyed the life of a trainee doctor. Many of us trained in the same city and walked those corridors. It brings back many memories.

Another doctor involved in the protest shared, "We have all trained in hospitals in Kolkata. We always believed that hospitals were the safest place. I remember my mother used to tell me not to come home at midnight because it wasn't safe to work late. I studied at the National Medical College in Kolkata, and my mother always said that it was safe to stay in the hospital. We never imagined something like this could happen within a hospital. We are gathered here to call for safety in the workplace."

One person who participated in the protest told AajTak, "We never thought such a disgraceful incident could occur in our city, Kolkata. I didn’t attend that particular medical college, but my wife did her post-graduation from RG Kar Medical College. Honestly, just last week we were talking about how familiar we are with the college, and now we can't believe something like this could happen there. We are at a loss for words."
