In Loni, Ghaziabad, BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar took a bold step to highlight inefficiencies in local governance. Not only did he physically hit the streets to clear a traffic jam affecting his constituency, but he also confrontationally accused police officials of misconduct, stirring political waters. Angry MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar asserted that a legislator outranks the Chief Secretary, yet he was treated like a peon. He lamented how officials, from secretaries to notable authorities in Ghaziabad and Loni, remain indifferent, absorbed in virtual conferences.
While personally working towards making Loni's roads free of encroachments and potholes, MLA Gurjar found himself stuck in a traffic jam at Loni Tiraha for hours. Frustrated, he alleged not a single officer was present, leaving citizens and himself stranded without support.
When an officer finally appeared, Gurjar voiced his irritation: “If citizens and even lawmakers must clear jams themselves, what is the police's duty?” Taking matters into his own hands, with his followers, he unclogged the jam and marched to the nearby ACP Loni office.
Shockingly, the ACP was absent, reportedly engaged in a video conference—a revelation that fueled Gurjar’s dissatisfaction further. Criticizing over the phone, he rebuked the tendency of senior officials to dismiss public and representative concerns under the guise of meetings.
'Auction of Police Posts in Ghaziabad'
MLA Gurjar further alleged, in public and to the media, that police posts are auctioned off in Ghaziabad. Charging two lakhs for each position, he claimed that money-driven appointments replace seasoned officers and that senior officials are complicit.
'Evidence of Money-Exchange in Post Allocation'
To substantiate his charges, Gurjar hinted at having recorded evidence of such transactions during his discussions with newly appointed officers. He challenged authorities, “Investigate if you dare, and the truth will be uncovered.”
Gurjar criticized senior police officials for ignoring both citizens and lawmakers, highlighting the negligence of CPs, ACPs, and other officials who are more concerned with staying seated in conferences. “People suffer on the roads while officials pretend nothing happens,” he asserted.
'Even MPs are being Ignored'
Pointing out how officials neglect even parliamentarians, he described the blatant bribery—checkpoint officers allegedly take bribes from meat shopkeepers, leading to sanctioned corruption thriving in plain sight. Officials dodge field duties under the pretext of video conferencing, while higher-ups partake in land dispute settlements for graft.
The irate MLA issued a stark warning that should such corruption regarding post allocations persist without redress, he would personally address Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
