Finally, the fourth man-eating wolf has been captured in Bahraich. Forest department personnel had been waiting in Harbans Purwa's Kachhar region for hours before successfully catching the wolf alive. The 'Aajtak' team was present throughout the operation, capturing every detail of how this dangerous predator was nabbed.

The dangerous wolf was caught in the area near the Ghaghra River and Sitapur border. It was ensnared by a net placed about 3 kilometers north of the village along the riverbank.

'Aajtak' team's destination was where three strategies were employed to capture the ferocious wolf. The wolves were spotted by drone the previous evening, located, and cornered with firecrackers all night.

The Captivating Story of Capturing the Wolf

Nets were set up from three sides in the Kachhar region, and over 200 forest workers waited with sticks and other equipment since morning. Three doctors, two DFOS, one range officer, and police from two stations were also present in the outer circle.

When the forest department team moved forward, sparking firecrackers to drive the wolves, one wolf got trapped in a net. It saw the net and tried to flee in the opposite direction where another net was set up. At least 50 forest workers rushed towards it once it got entangled. The wolf was then tranquilized with an injection immediately.

Using nets, chasing, and capture, the wolf was ultimately caught. The forest workers carried it back about 3 kilometers to a cage area.

A Man-Eater Wolf

The DFO confirmed that the captured wolf is a healthy male and has turned into a man-eater. It was spotted last night and captured this morning. The forest department and other teams showed great bravery. The doctor who tranquilized the wolf stated that searches for the remaining man-eaters are ongoing. Three wolves from the six-wolf family had been captured earlier, and this was the fourth. Searches are still ongoing for the remaining two.

Around 25 teams from various forest divisions in Bahraich, Katerniaghat Wildlife, Shravasti, Gonda, and Barabanki are dedicated to capturing these man-eating wolves. The presence of these wolves has caused such fear that villagers stay up all night for safety, not allowing their children and families to step out after dark. To boost morale, BJP MLA from Mehsi seat, Sureshwar Singh, also joined the search with his licensed firearm and supporters with modern weapons.
