Users are leveling accusations against the e-commerce giant Flipkart, owned by American company Walmart. The crux of the complaint is centered around a 5,000 INR Pre Reserve pass offered during the sale. The company claimed that those who purchased this pass would get the iPhone 16 Pro at a cheaper rate.
Just days before the Big Billion Days sale, Flipkart began selling a Pre Pass for the iPhone 16 Pro. Many users benefited from this deal, acquiring the iPhone 16 Pro for nearly 70,000 INR. However, for those who couldn’t get the iPhone 16 Pro, the company is reportedly not issuing refunds.
Evidently, the company sold the limited units of iPhone 16 Pro at a lower price, so not everyone who bought the 5,000 INR pass obtained the phone.
Moreover, some users had already booked the iPhone 16 Pro, only to have Flipkart cancel the orders later. Some users even alleged that their orders were canceled by the company after reaching the nearest distribution hub.
An X user named Abhishek Yadav mentioned in a post that those unable to get the iPhone 16 Pro have suffered a loss of 5,000 INR, as the terms clearly stated that the 5,000 INR Pre Pass is non-refundable.

Since Flipkart clarified in its terms and conditions that the 5,000 INR pass is non-cancelable and non-refundable, failure to purchase the custom iPhone 16 Pro (128GB) within the first 48 hours would result in the pass’s cancellation and no refund issued.
Imagine, with potentially millions of users buying the 5,000 INR pass, it remains unclear how many actually received the iPhone 16 Pro. Most posts found on X assert that despite purchasing the 5,000 INR pass, a discounted iPhone 16 Pro was still unattainable. Consequently, the company accrued significant funds from multiple 5,000 INR passes.
Best practice would dictate that if the 5,000 INR Pre Pass is sold and a discounted iPhone 16 Pro is unavailable, the company should either refund the full amount or offer an adjustment on another purchase. However, Flipkart opted for an alternate approach. Ultimately, for any reason, those unable to acquire the iPhone 16 Pro 128GB have been financially impacted.
Numerous users on X are considering taking legal action against Flipkart, claiming that there are thousands whose 5,000 INR have gone unrefunded, thus accusing the company of unfairly capitalizing on this scheme.
