The Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP, Mahua Moitra, faced an FIR in Chhattisgarh over her alleged comment against Home Minister Amit Shah, 'Cut off the head and place it on the table.' In response, Moitra launched a vehement attack on the BJP, labeling her statement as an idiom and stating, 'Fools do not understand idioms.'
Mahua Moitra noted that the slogan 'This time, over 400' was shattered following the 2024 Lok Sabha election results. The foreign media described it as a slap to Narendra Modi. Did anyone physically slap the PM? No. Similarly, in Bengali, 'shame cuts off the head' is a metaphor for taking responsibility.
Moitra also targeted the Chhattisgarh police, who filed the FIR against her. She accused the SP of Kondagaon of lodging false FIRs and assaulting Bengali migrant workers. The TMC MP remarked, 'I approached the High Court, which issued a notice. Now the SP has withdrawn his FIR.'

An FIR was lodged against Mahua Moitra at Manna Camp Police Station in Raipur based on a complaint from local resident Gopal Samanta, who suggested Moitra's statement threatened democracy and national unity. It’s notable that Mahua Moitra stated in Nadia that the BJP claims illegal infiltration in Bengal. BSF is posted along the border, which reports directly to the Home Ministry.

Moitra questioned who is responsible if infiltration is indeed occurring? She held the central Home Minister Amit Shah accountable since the BSF Chief reports to him. She remarked that if Amit Shah is failing to prevent the infiltration, he should take responsibility. Foremost, 'his throat should be cut and placed on the table.'
