In response to Rahul Gandhi's concerns about bank privatization, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has struck back, asserting that Gandhi should not just make accusations and flee but should engage in debate.

Commenting on Gandhi's questions, Sitharaman remarked that his grandmother did nationalize banks, but Congress has solely nationalized corruption. She said, 'Before speaking on bank nationalization, Rahul Gandhi should do his homework. He tends to make accusations and run away but should also wait for a debate. I'm not sure who guides him for his tweets.'

During a cabinet briefing when the privatization of banks was questioned, Sitharaman stated that not all banks would be privatized and expressed the desire for the creation of more banks like the State Bank of India. The Development Finance Institution (DFI) was established with this hope in mind and to meet market expectations. The rights and future of the employees of banks undergoing privatization will be protected.

Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi nationalized banks, which resulted in some successes and banks playing their roles, with partial success in some cases. The brief statements by Rahul Gandhi will not be beneficial. The Congress government has been privatizing taxpayers' money for the advantage of one family.

The Finance Minister affirmed that not all banks are being privatized and that employee interests would be taken care of. She encouraged staff to continue the exceptional work they have gained experience in.

Rahul Gandhi's Concern

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, showing solidarity with bank employees striking against privatization, tweeted that the central government is privatizing profits and nationalizing losses. Selling government banks to 'Modi friends' plays with India's financial security. 'I stand with the bank employees on strike,' he said.
