An Instagram spat in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, escalated into a full-blown fight between two groups, the video of which is now making rounds on social media. The video starkly showcases individuals from both sides resorting to sticks, stones, and brute force against each other. Many have been reported injured in the violent clash. Authorities have since taken action on the incident.
In reality, the entire incident took place in Jandarpur area of the city police station, where a day ago stir arose over an Instagram reel posted by Faizan, which Nadeem from the neighbourhood commented on. Faizan, however, did not take kindly to the comment, which allegedly contained offensive language.
This set the stage for a violent altercation between both parties, causing multiple injuries. A report was filed against Faizan following police intervention.
Allegedly armed with sticks and stones, Faizan and his companions approached Nadeem's residence. A verbal dispute quickly turned into a physical fight, and the locality became a battleground. The situation spiraled into chaos as dozens from both sides attacked each other with sticks and stones.
Based on the video evidence, the police have begun rounding up suspects. The main accused, Faizan, has been charged. The City Officer stated legal proceedings are underway regarding the dispute that arose from an Instagram comment within the same community.
The police further clarified that the conflict took place in the Jandarpur-Mandawali area of Bijnor. A video posted on social media featuring abusive language led to the dispute between the two parties, followed by a fierce bout of fighting and stone-pelting. Roughly 12 people sustained injuries during the fray, all of whom have been admitted to the hospital. The police are actively investigating the case.
