Prayagraj and Haridwar Kumbh models to inspire Ujjain Singhast

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that the state will adopt the best practices from the Prayagraj and Haridwar Kumbh festivals for the upcoming Singhast Mela in Ujjain, scheduled for 2028.

The CM stated that after the conclusion of the upcoming Kumbh in Prayagraj, a conference involving companies and startups focusing on crowd management, drone surveys, and the use of artificial intelligence, among other activities, will be conducted in Ujjain. He reviewed the preparation plans, including infrastructure-related tasks, for the Singhast Mela.

The grand Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 26. Previously, in 2021, the Kumbh Mela was held in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

CM Yadav emphasized the importance of studying the Prayagraj and Haridwar models to ensure optimal arrangements for Singhast-2028. A strategic plan will be formulated to implement the best practices from both Kumbh festivals into Singhast-2028.

He instructed officials to set up a special cell to coordinate with the railways for the smooth movement of pilgrims during Singhast. Additionally, suitable access routes should be developed to facilitate easy access to the ghats for devotees.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the need to focus on sewage, sanitation, and greenery in the ongoing construction works in Ujjain, Indore, and Dewas. He directed the preparation of an action plan for upgrading accommodations for tourists. Yadav stressed the immediate expansion of administrative structures in departments as required in light of Singhast-2028.
