A video is going viral from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, showing a person's hair being cut. Besides, a victim dressed in a white kurta and red dhoti is seen touching a woman's feet and rubbing his nose on the ground. Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party (SP), posted about this incident on the social media platform 'X'.
In his post on 'X', he wrote - During a Bhagat Katha in Dadar Pur village in Etawah's Bakewer area, when the caste of the storyteller and his assistants were inquired about, some dominant individuals behaved disrespectfully, cutting their hair, making them rub their noses on the ground, and purging the area.

In fact, a shocking case of caste violence and insult has surfaced from Dadar Pur village in Etawah’s Bakewer area. Storyteller Mukut Mani Yadav and his assistant Sant Kumar Yadav went to the village to narrate a tale but were assaulted after being asked their caste. The victims allege they were held captive being labeled as fake storytellers, Sant Kumar's hair was cut, and a woman was forced to touch the feet.
Moreover, the harmonium was broken too. The victims allege they were sprayed with human urine. This entire incident's video went viral on social media. The police have taken notice and started investigating. The victims demand justice and stern action against the accused. Storyteller Mukut Mani Yadav said that his tale was booked, but as they began the narrative, chaos ensued. They were subjected to inhuman treatment and vulgar language. Now they seek justice, urging the police to take action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, Etawah's senior police superintendent Brijesh Kumar Srivastava reported that the complaint was received, and a case has been registered. Strict action will be taken. It has been reported that some money from the victims was stolen as well. An investigation is underway. An additional SP-led team has been formed for a thorough probe.
