Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the historic Red Fort on Independence Day, discussing the current situation in Bangladesh. He expressed hope that the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh would be ensured and that conditions would soon return to normal.

PM Modi stated that it is natural for a neighboring country like India to be concerned about the developments in Bangladesh. He mentioned his understanding and hope for a swift return to normalcy, emphasizing the concern of 1.4 billion Indians for the safety of the Hindu community there. India always wishes for peace and prosperity for its neighboring countries, underscoring its commitment to peace and goodwill. He assured that India would remain a well-wisher in Bangladesh's journey towards development, as India's values are rooted in the welfare of humanity.

It should be noted that attacks on the Hindu community have been reported in Bangladesh following the political upheaval with the ousting of Sheikh Hasina's government. The new interim government of Bangladesh has, however, pledged to maintain peace among various communities.

On a different note, PM Modi reiterated the goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He spoke about the collective dream and dedication required to achieve this target. He reminded the nation of the strength and resolve shown by 400 million Indians who fought for freedom against a global superpower. He emphasized that the same spirit flows through the veins of 1.4 billion Indians today. If 400 million people could break the chains of slavery and realize the dream of independence, then 1.4 billion determined Indians can certainly overcome every challenge to build a prosperous India. We can achieve our goal of a developed India by 2047.
