"Enhance temple security...' Bomb threat email to Ram Temple Trust and DMs in UP

Sent on Monday night, the message advised strengthening security at the Ram Temple and ominously added, "Enhance temple security." The Ram Temple Trust took swift action and lodged an FIR at the Ayodhya Cyber Police Station to address the serious threat.

Security Agencies On Alert

Following the email, Ayodhya's security agencies issued an alert, launching a comprehensive search operation. Districts like Barabanki and Chandauli have also been cautioned due to a similar bomb threat in the emails sent to their respective DMs.

Preliminary investigations by security agencies suggest these threatening emails originated from Tamil Nadu. The cyber cell is currently probing these emails to identify the sender. Meanwhile, security has been bolstered in Ayodhya, Barabanki, Chandauli, and other involved districts.

Panic Over Bomb Threat at Chandauli Collectorate

Chandauli's district magistrate received an alarming email threatening to bomb the Chandauli Collectorate office. Sent by an individual named Gopal Swami from Tamil Nadu, the email triggered immediate action from security agencies. The police force and bomb squad were promptly summoned to conduct a thorough search of the building. Fortunately, no explosives or suspicious items were located, offering relief to all officials and staff members.

Statement from Chandauli District Magistrate

According to Chandauli DM Nikhil T. Funde, the email attributed to Gopal Swami indicated protest movements in Tamil Nadu due to a local issue, threatening to bomb Chandauli Collectorate in retaliation. After meticulous checks, no explosives or suspicious materials were found in the collectorate.

Morning Threat Via Email

Nikhil T. Funde revealed that a warning was emailed in the morning, citing a potential bomb explosion at the Chandauli Collectorate, linked to a political issue in Tamil Nadu. The address provided was also from Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the connection. Despite the content seeming implausible, precautionary checks conducted with the assistance of police captain were thorough, yet turned up nothing.

Bomb Threat to Aligarh District Headquarters

Aligarh District Headquarters received a bomb threat via email, prompting immediate alertness among police administration. A robust police presence has been arranged at the headquarters, with inspections conducted using a dog squad and other equipment. The DM affirmed over the phone that an email was received and is currently being investigated.
