When India Last Won a Series in England
It has been 18 years since India last clinched a Test series victory in England. Their last victory came in 2007 under the leadership of Rahul Dravid. Post-2007, the Indian squad faced defeats in the England Test series twice in 2011 and 2014 with MS Dhoni as captain. During tours in 2018 and 2022 under Virat Kohli's leadership, India suffered a defeat in 2018; however, the 2022 visit ended in a draw.
Historically speaking, along with Rahul Dravid, only under the captaincy of Kapil Dev and Ajit Wadekar, has the Indian team seized Test series victories in England. Captaining in 1986, Kapil Dev led India to a 2-0 series win on English soil. Meanwhile, Ajit Wadekar secured a 1-0 series triumph in 1971 against England.
