As one of the riches people on the planet and the CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk has made a significant statement about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). On Saturday, Musk voiced his demand for eliminating EVMs, stating that they could potentially be hacked with the use of machinery or artificial intelligence. This concern was raised by Musk on the social media platform X.

Sharing a post from the presidential contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Elon Musk wrote on platform X, 'We need to put an end to electronic voting machines. The risk of hacking, though minor, is still too significant to ignore.'

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. initially highlighted the irregularities in EVMs during the Puerto Rican primaries. Citing the Associated Press in his post, Kennedy stated, 'Numerous flaws associated with the electronic voting machines surfaced in the Puerto Rican primary elections. Fortunately, there was a paper trail, which allowed for detecting and rectifying the miscounted votes.'

He questioned, 'What will happen in areas without a paper trail? American citizens should be assured that all their votes were counted.' Kennedy proposes the only way to safeguard elections from electronic tampering is by returning to ballot papers.

The Puerto Rican Election Commission initially announced that it would reconsider its contract with an American electronic voting company after voting issues were uncovered post-election. Jessica Padilla Rivera, the acting chair of the Puerto Rican poll body, clarified during an interview that the problem arose due to a software glitch.
