Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has requested an audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sources claim that Kharge intends to present the Congress Manifesto to PM Modi, acquainting him with its contents.

Kharge is also expected to urge PM Modi not to mislead voters about the Congress Manifesto. It should be noted that a controversy recently erupted over PM Modi’s remarks about the Manifesto at an election rally, leading Congress to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission.

The Disputed Statement by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a campaign rally in Banswara, Rajasthan, claimed that if Congress comes to power, they will distribute people's properties among Muslims. He accused the previous government led by Manmohan Singh of stating that Muslims have the first right to the nation’s assets.

In the rally, PM Modi also said that the 'urban Naxal' mindset would not even spare the mangalsutras of our mothers and sisters. He alleged that the Congress manifesto plans to audit gold possessions, gathering information before distributing the property to minorities. The Prime Minister questioned if the hard-earned money of the people would be given away to infiltrators, and whether the public would accept such a decision.
