Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, categorically denied any friction with CM Devendra Fadnavis. Addressing the matter at the 'Mumbai Manthan' event, Shinde clarified that rumored cold wars between them are mere media fabrications with no ounce of truth. The media may echo disputes, but mutual understanding and teamwork underscore their relationship. He remarked, 'Even when I was CM, I perceived him as CM, never a deputy. We are relentless, 24/7 leaders with a unified mission towards state development.'
Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde articulated a vision; 'Our singular goal is to transform Mumbai into a superfast metropolis while propelling Maharashtra ahead. The pothole crisis is being tackled earnestly, with a promise that Mumbai will be completely pothole-free within a year. By 2027, we aim for smooth traffic flow with a comprehensive pothole resolution. Although the traffic can't be halted, causing inconvenience to thousands, our commitment remains strong. The completed metro network will significantly ease public transit.'
Discussing BMC elections, Shinde stressed transcendence beyond ideology, asserting that power and victory are unattainable otherwise. He mentioned that local election dynamics are strategic, with proposed alliances shaped by worker recommendations. He clarified, 'Assembly elections are distinct from this, a pivotal one being the legislative election of Maharashtra. It's a grand election borne from the activists' aspirations, and we encourage them to compete.'
Shinde expressed clarity on ideological grounds, remarking that straying from ideals doesn't equate victory, referring to defunct alliances between BJP, Congress, and AIMIM in Ambernath and Akot. 'Our party follows Balasaheb Thackeray's ideals steadfastly, without compromise, having elucidated our stand unwaveringly.'
Asked about discomfort from the Ambernath alliance, Shinde openly affirmed, 'Yes, indeed. My initial conversations about it were with state BJP chief Ravindra Chavan, followed by CM Devendra Fadnavis. I pointed out this incident contradicts our ideology, which was taken seriously.'
Undaunted by setbacks, Shinde recalled past feats, 'In 2022, I achieved monumental tasks despite not being from a medical background, proving my resilience.'
Commenting on the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, Shinde remarked, 'The opposition embodies dissent without purpose, lacking substantial issues. Where's their narrative? Meanwhile, I can enumerate numerous achievements of our government for Maharashtra’s progress.'
Shinde concluded by acknowledging Mumbai's pluralistic society, 'Everyone in Mumbai belongs here. They aren't adversaries; they are Mumbai's heart.'
