In the next three hours, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh might experience moderate to severe storms, lightning, and strong winds. The meteorological department has issued a warning regarding this. A red alert has been issued for the next two hours. The strong winds have caused trees to fall in multiple locations around Delhi, with the highest wind speed recorded at Ujwa, reaching 84 km/h.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a dust storm is predicted to affect Delhi-NCR over the next three hours, accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. Winds may blow at a speed of 40 to 60 km/h, and in some areas, speeds could reach up to 80 km/h.

Fallen Trees Due to the Windstorm

The storm has led to the toppling of several trees. News agency ANI shared a video from Delhi Gate where a tree branch fell onto a motorcycle, with bystanders working together to move it. Another video from Mandi House depicts a massive tree collapse causing minor traffic disruptions. A video from Lodhi Road shows trees swaying violently due to high winds, hindering pedestrian movement as dust fills the streets.

Destruction by the Storm in Delhi

Residents witnessed the havoc of the storm in Delhi on Friday evening. The highest wind speed was recorded at 84 km/h in Ujwa. IGI Airport experienced winds at 74 km/h, while Pragati Maidan saw speeds up to 70 km/h.
