In the throes of young love, a couple hatched a secret plan to flee and marry. But destiny, it seems, had other plans. Their blossoming romance in coaching classes over the years was no secret. Vows to live and die for each other were made, and they decided to elude their homes for a wedding in secret. Unfortunately, the plan was foiled, and both ended up in police hands.
The case originates from Sahora village, under the jurisdiction of Chandradeep police station in Jamui district. Priyanka (name changed), daughter of Ramavriksha Yadav, fell for Md. Taj Ansari while attending coaching classes. Priyanka's father, Ramavriksha, aware of the budding romance, kept a close watch on his daughter.
As time passed, Priyanka and Md. Taj plotted to escape to Kolkata without leaving a trace. Under this plan, Ramavriksha took his daughter Priyanka to the local school for her annual exams. While she went to school under the pretense of exam-taking, she swiftly departed with her lover instead.
Dressed in a hijab, Priyanka slipped past her waiting father unseen. When she failed to emerge from school after considerable time, her anxious father searched the schoolgrounds. Upon finding no trace of her, he reported her kidnapping at Chandradeep police station.
Cloaked in her hijab, Priyanka joined her lover and his friend at Jamui railway station as they awaited a train to Kolkata. Their suspicious behavior caught the attention of the Government Railway Police, leading to their arrest on platform number one.
Detailed interrogations exposed the truth, and Priyanka confessed to the plan of escape. Following this revelation, the GRP informed Chandradeep police station. Priyanka was later retrieved by her family, while Md. Taj Ansari shared his intention to prevent her against-her-will wedding, leading to their desperate escape plan. His friend, Md. Saif Alam, stood by them in assistance. The police are currently questioning both men in the case.
