Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. He said that with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being imprisoned and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia out on bail in liquor scam and money laundering cases, development works and civic services in Delhi have come to a standstill. He stated that this situation directly impacts the common people of Delhi, who are already grappling with numerous issues.
Yadav accused the AAP government not only of being corrupt but also of being indifferent to the problems of Delhi’s citizens. He pointed out issues like waterlogging, deaths due to drowning and electrocution, improper garbage collection, and vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria have made Delhiites' lives extremely challenging. Yadav alleged that all these problems are a result of the negligence of the Delhi government.
He further said that Kejriwal's government has colluded with power distribution companies to extract arbitrary electricity rates from consumers. Despite this, street lights in many areas of Delhi, particularly where there's already a security issue, do not work properly. This situation becomes even more critical because no one seems to care about resolving these problems.
Meanwhile, seeing the dwindling political grip of AAP, five AAP councilors have joined the BJP. Devendra Yadav termed this political shift as a clear indication of the AAP government’s failure in Delhi. He explained that these councilors joined BJP because they saw no future in AAP for their political careers. Yadav also emphasized that Kejriwal, who has failed to solve Delhi’s problems, is now distributing “guarantee cards” for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. He called this ironic and a mockery of the people of Delhi.
