With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 set to commence on March 22, Rachin Ravindra, the star player of MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has already grabbed a significant achievement.

The star all-rounder from New Zealand was honored with the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal, becoming the youngest player to achieve this after being named the best male cricketer at the New Zealand Cricket annual awards on Wednesday.

CSK, under Dhoni's leadership, invested in Rachin's talent

Rachin shot to fame with his impressive performance in the ODI World Cup 2023. Post his commendable plays, CSK bagged him at the IPL auction for 1.8 crores INR. This marks Rachin's debut in the IPL.

Kane Williamson was awarded the ANZ Best Test Player of the Year for his stellar performance in test matches. He was also honored with the 'Redpath Cup' for outstanding batting in the first-class division for men.

Rachin has showcased extraordinary skills in the past year

At just 24, Ravindra is the youngest recipient of the 'Sir Richard Hadlee Medal'. Over the past year, he has shown a powerful game and has become a key pillar for the New Zealand team in both test and limited overs cricket. Since making his place in the national team last March, Ravindra scored 578 runs at an average of 64 in the World Cup held in India.

During this spell, he notched up three centuries and two half-centuries. Following these performances, Ravindra was chosen as the ICC's Emerging Player of the Year for 2023. He also secured an Indian Premier League contract with the Chennai Super Kings worth 1.8 crore INR.
