Amidst the anticipations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, former Jaunpur MP and influential leader Dhananjay Singh has announced support for the BJP. Recently, at a gathering at his residence, Singh unequivocally endorsed the BJP candidate, amidst his praises for Home Minister Amit Shah.

Singh lauded the BJP's round-the-clock endeavors, drawing parallels to Amit Shah's strategic political maneuvers akin to the legendary Chanakya, with a vigilant eye on every electoral seat. Singh asserts that progress comes with hard work, and the BJP exemplifies this.

During this engagement, Singh also addressed claims about the constitution, clarifying the opposition's exaggerated allegations on amendments and labeling it as their narrative.

The Clear Path for BJP

The withdrawal of Dhananjay Singh's wife, Shrikala Reddy, from the electoral race, followed by their support for BJP, has paved a smoother path for Kripashankar Singh, the BJP candidate from Jaunpur. Meanwhile, Shrikala was previously contesting under the BSP banner.

When questioned about his support for BJP, Singh spoke of his followers' disillusionment and their inclination to withdraw from the democratic process. Upon consulting with them, nearly 70% favored supporting the ruling party. Consequently, after discussion with supporters, he decided to back the ruling party.

It's noteworthy that former MP Dhananjay Singh was recently released from Bareilly jail. Upon his release on May 1st, he had expressed his intention to head straight to Jaunpur and campaign for his wife, a BSP candidate then. However, things took a different turn when BSP withdrew her ticket, leading to Singh's announcement in favor of the BJP.
