Recently, the manner in which Indian immigrants were deported from the US back to India has incited politicians, including fierce BJP leader and former Union Minister Uma Bharti, to voice their discontent. She took to X on Saturday, condemning the situation as inhumane.

Uma Bharti Calls It Shameful and Disgraceful

Uma Bharti expressed that shackling and sending back illegal Indian immigrants in such a manner is disgraceful and a blot on humanity. She compared this brutality to the historical treatment of Native Americans and African Americans by previous American administrations.

The necessity of handcuffs and fetters on a flight is questionable and reflects the US administration's cruelty and inhumanity. While illegal entry into a country is undoubtedly a crime punished by each nation's legal framework, such brutality is an unforgivable sin on this earth.

Second Batch of Deported Indians Arrive Today

The second group of Indians deported from the US is scheduled to arrive today, on Saturday, with a landing in Amritsar around 10 PM. The flight carries 119 Indians back to their homeland. Sources suggest a third flight is expected on February 16, carrying 157 individuals. This group includes 59 from Haryana, 52 from Punjab, and 31 from Gujarat, with others from various states.

Previously, on February 5, the first aircraft with deported illegal immigrants landed in Amritsar, returning 104 Indians from the United States.
