Tesla Showroom In India:

The ambitious journey of Tesla, the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, to enter India seems to be progressing swiftly. Under Elon Musk's visionary leadership, Tesla has started recruiting for several positions across India. Recently, during a diplomatic tour in the U.S., a fruitful dialogue between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the world's wealthiest person, Elon Musk, led Tesla to actively seek job applications for its Indian operations. Moreover, the company is on the brink of concluding its site hunts for opening showrooms in the bustling cities of Mumbai and Delhi.

Showrooms to Open in Delhi and Mumbai:

According to a recent Reuters report, Tesla, the renowned EV giant, is set to establish retail outlets at two prominent locations in India. Strategically, it has chosen to open its first showrooms in the heart of India's capital, Delhi, as well as in the vibrant city of Mumbai. By planting these showrooms, Tesla aims to solidify its presence in the expansive Indian automobile market. The report mentions that while Tesla has been scouting for showroom spaces since late 2023, bureaucratic hurdles had initially delayed the process.

Showroom in BKC, Mumbai and Aerocity, Delhi:

As Tesla prepares to tap into the third-largest automobile market worldwide, it has seemingly zeroed in on Aerocity in New Delhi. This area, adjacent to Indira Gandhi International Airport, is renowned as a bustling hub for global corporate offices, luxury hotels, and retail outlets. Meanwhile, the designated location in Mumbai is the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), a vital commercial district close to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Awaiting Tesla's Arrival:

Tesla's potential debut in India had been eagerly anticipated for quite some time. However, the prohibitive high import duties previously deterred its entry. Recent governmental policy shifts, which saw a decrease in custom duties on luxury electric cars priced above $40,000—from 110% to 70%—have made the Indian market significantly more appealing for international ventures.
