Last Saturday night in Vivek Vihar, East Delhi, tragedy struck when a fierce blaze at a Baby Care Center led to the death of 7 infants. A total of 12 children were rescued late last night, of whom 7 succumbed during treatment at the hospital. Currently, 5 children are under medical care, with one in critical condition on a ventilator.
Officials from the Delhi Fire Service report that they were notified of the fire at the baby care center near the ITI in Vivek Vihar's Block B at 11:32 PM. Nine fire engines were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

The incident coincided with another horrific event in Rajkot, Gujarat, where a bustling gaming zone caught fire, resulting in at least 27 fatalities, including many children.

According to the fire department, the baby care center was housed in a 120-yard building. Of the 12 children rescued from the first floor, 7 have passed away in the hospital, while the others are still undergoing treatment. One child who had been in the ICU died earlier this morning. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Oxygen cylinders were found inside the baby care center. The neighboring building also caught fire, which was fortunately contained without any casualties. Some oxygen cylinders exploded in the fire, adding to the chaos and challenge for the firefighters. A total of 16 fire engines reached the scene at night and controlled the fire within approximately 50 minutes.
