Alarm spreads across Delhi as ten different hospitals receive menacing emails threatening to bomb the premises. According to the Delhi Fire Services, they received calls from two hospitals, the first from Burari Government Hospital and the second from Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, indicating an ongoing investigation.
Upon receiving the emails, hospital administrations immediately alerted the authorities. In response, police units, along with bomb squads and fire departments, were swiftly deployed to the locations. Among the threatened hospitals are the Burari Government Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, and eight others.
Delhi Police confirmed receiving an email about a bomb threat at a hospital. Local police are meticulously scanning the hospital premises. So far, nothing suspicious has been uncovered.
'IGI Airport Also Receives Bomb Threat'
Following the hospital threats, the Indira Gandhi International Airport too received a menacing email. Police search teams are rigorously inspecting the airport. A single email ID was used to dispatch threats to both the hospitals and the IGI Airport, sent around 3 PM. However, police have not found anything compromising at the airport to date.
Previously, 150 Schools Received Threatening Emails
Just days earlier, on Wednesday, May 1st, approximately 150 schools in Delhi-NCR were targeted by bomb hoax emails. Perpetrators leveraged a Russian email service known for enabling anonymous communication, potentially aiding illegal activities.
Following the wave of threatening emails, police conducted search operations across all schools with the aid of canine units and bomb squads. It was later revealed that the threatening emails were a hoax, prompting the police to urge parents not to panic.
It is noteworthy that schools in Delhi have frequently been subjected to similar threats in the past. In February, the principal of DPS School in RK Puram received a similar email. Amity School in Saket also faced a threatening email that February, which included a ransom demand.
