A Delhi Police Sub-Inspector tragically ended his life by shooting himself with his service revolver. The incident, unfolding within the officer's East Delhi residence, was described by officials on Sunday.
Identified as Ganesh from Telangana, the deceased was posted at the Madhu Vihar police station.
A senior official reported, 'Around 2 AM between Saturday and Sunday, family members called the police, concerned he wasn't responding.'
'Suspicion arose, prompting local police to check on Ganesh's flat. The door was found securely locked from the inside.'
The police team entered through the balcony on the first floor. Peering through the glass, they found SI Ganesh lying lifeless, a pistol beside him,' said the officer.
'Crime and forensic teams were called to the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the SI used his service revolver to commit suicide,' the officer noted, clarifying no suicide note had been found as the investigation continues.
