The Special Cell of Delhi Police has made a major breakthrough by unveiling an espionage module connected to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. During this operation, they arrested a Nepalese citizen involved in purchasing SIM cards from India and sending them to Pakistan via Nepal.

The arrested individual has been identified as 43-year-old Prabhat Kumar Chaurasia from Birganj, Nepal. On August 28, 2025, the Special Cell received a tip-off about his presence in the Laxmi Nagar area, where they quickly laid a trap and apprehended him.

Revelation of ISI-linked Espionage Module

During interrogation, Prabhat admitted to purchasing 16 SIM cards using his Aadhaar card, 11 of which were sent to ISI agents in Lahore and Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The aim was to use these Indian numbers for creating WhatsApp accounts and extracting information related to the Indian Army.

Police confiscated various digital devices and SIM card packets from him. The investigation revealed that Prabhat was contacted by ISI agents in 2024 through a Nepali intermediary. He was enticed with promises of a journalism-related U.S. visa in exchange for procuring SIM cards from India and gathering sensitive information.
