In the capital of India, Delhi, a vast and international kidney trafficking network has been exposed. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police apprehended seven people in the case, including a 50-year-old woman doctor from a big hospital, accused of running the illegal kidney racket spanning from Bangladesh to Rajasthan.

The arrested woman doctor reportedly performed 15 to 16 transplant operations. Authorities revealed that this nefarious trade of human kidneys was operated from Bangladesh, but the surgeries were executed in India.

The female doctor had extracted 15-16 kidneys

The case related to this Bangladesh-based racket was initially disclosed by Rajasthan Police. Following this, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police delved into the investigation and discovered that a female doctor, from a large hospital in Delhi, had completed 15 to 16 transplants in a hospital in Noida.

It is alleged that the profit from this illicit operation was deposited in the personal assistant's bank account of the female doctor, who would cash it in. According to Delhi Police, the racket was orchestrated from Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, people associated with the racket frequented dialysis centers to find patients in need of a kidney transplant and evaluate their financial capacity. Once they found a patient prepared to pay 25 to 30 lakh rupees, they would, via an Indian medical agency, arrange for the patient to be sent to India for treatment.

People were brought from Bangladesh under the guise of job opportunities

Subsequently, members of the racket would dupe poor Bangladeshis with an offer of money in exchange for a kidney donation. These individuals were then deceitfully transported to India, where the racketeers would declare them as relatives to patients in need of a kidney and, with falsified documents, have the female doctor perform the extraction.

This woman doctor was arrested by the Delhi Police's Crime Branch from Delhi four days ago. Following the emergence of the case, Apollo Hospital suspended her. Police report that some donors were lured to India with the promise of employment and then had their kidneys removed.

Apollo Hospital issues explanation

Following the revelation of the woman doctor's involvement, Apollo Hospital has made a statement regarding the matter.

The hospital states that the woman doctor was not employed on a payroll but was contracted on a fee-for-service agreement. The doctor's services have been suspended.

The hospital also affirmed that the actions undertaken by the female doctor occurred in another hospital and that no such deeds took place within the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital (IAH), according to preliminary investigations.
