The weather in Delhi-NCR took a dramatic turn on Friday evening, sparking hope for respite from the relentless heat. Gusts and dust-laden winds marked their presence late Friday evening. The meteorological department has also forecasted light rain and drizzle in many areas.
Due to the change in weather, Delhi airport had to divert nine Air India flights. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for a storm with winds at 50-60 km/h at 11:08 PM in areas including Noida, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Aligarh, Meerut, and Bagpat. Additionally, orange and yellow warnings for storms and dusty winds were issued for several western UP regions.

Prospects of Light Rain and Drizzle
The meteorological department informed that light rain and drizzle are anticipated in many parts surrounding Delhi and NCR, including Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, and other regions.
The weather shift has provided relief from the heat. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi on Friday was 39 degrees Celsius, which is typical for this time of the year. The relative humidity during the day fluctuated between 47 and 64 percent.
Rain Predicted for Saturday and Sunday
Kuldeep Srivastava, a scientist and head of the Regional Meteorological Center, told PTI news agency, 'There will be drizzle in Delhi late Friday night due to a new active western disturbance. There is a higher likelihood of rain on Saturday and Sunday.' The weather office predicts showers with storms for Saturday, and temperatures are likely to range between a maximum of 39 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 29 degrees Celsius.
