In light of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches taking place in the nation's capital, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced an extension of service hours across all metro lines. This move aims to accommodate the influx of fans attending the games, ensuring they can return home comfortably late into the night. Specifically, the schedules have been adjusted keeping in mind the matches on Wednesday, 24th April, and the subsequent games on the 7th and 14th of May, held at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. DMRC shared this update via a post, highlighting its commitment to the convenience of cricket enthusiasts.

Traditionally, the last metro trains on all lines commence at 11 PM. However, due to the IPL events, these timings have been modified to run from 11:20 PM to as late as 1:30 AM, varying across different routes.

Advisory Issued by Delhi Police

As the city gears up for the IPL cricket extravaganza, Delhi Police has released a traffic advisory. The advisory particularly pertains to the match on the 24th April, scheduled between the Delhi Capitals and the Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The game will kickoff at 7 PM and wrap up around 11:30 PM.

Ahead of the event, Delhi Police advises avoiding Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg between 5 PM and 8 PM on match day. Diversions are expected from Delhi Gate to ITO Chowk on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and from Rajghat to Delhi Gate on JLN Marg. Moreover, shuttle services will be available at ITO Metro Station and Pragati Maidan Metro Station for spectators' ease. Parking facilities for gates 1 to 8 and 16 to 18 are arranged along Mata Sundari Marg and at Rajghat Power House Road, while those accessing gates 9 to 15 can park along Velodrome Road. Attendees are encouraged to utilize the shuttle services for smooth transit to the stadium.

Delhi Police requests the public and motorists to remain patient, comply with traffic regulations, maintain road discipline, and heed instructions given by traffic personnel at intersections. Also, it is advised to stay updated with the latest traffic arrangement information.
